AMTRAK EMPLOYEE SENTENCED FOR CONSPIRACY TO COMMIT HEALTH CARE FRAUD

Former Amtrak employee Timothy Bogen of Hamden, Connecticut, was sentenced on June 24, 2026, in U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey. Bogen was sentenced to two years of probation and ordered to pay $242,559 in restitution. According to court documents, Bogen was given cash kickbacks for allowing health care providers to use his insurance information to fraudulently bill Amtrak’s health care plan for services that were never provided and that were not medically necessary.
