EMPLOYEE CONVICTED AND SENTENCED FOR CREDIT CARD FRAUD
An Amtrak assistant passenger conductor based in Washington, D.C., pleaded guilty to credit card fraud on July 24, 2026, in Alexandria General District Court and was sentenced the same day to six months of probation. Our investigation found that the employee used credit cards he found in a passenger’s wallet that was left behind on a train to make unauthorized purchases. Disciplinary action by the company is pending.
